Value of Restored Ford 901 Tractor

Got this question from Facebook follower Rod F:

“Pete, wondering what a 1959 Ford 901 Powermaster row crop tractor might be worth? Nice restoration. Several new parts. Avg. or above tires. Ballpark value?”

You’re in luck Rod, just saw (2) restored Ford 901 tractors sold on a collector estate auction back on November 11, 2017 in Griswold, IA, sale by good folks at Girard Auction & Land Brokers (www.girardauction.com). This was a HUGE collector sale for the Rush estate/Museum. A recently restored Ford 901 with wide front, Select-o-Speed, sold for $3,750. Here’s a picture of it:

This same 11/11/17 Griswold, IA collector auction had another Ford 901, an older restoration, narrow front, Select-o-Speed. It sold for $2,600. Here’s a pic of it:

Couple years ago, on a farm auction in River Falls, WI on November 28, 2015, sale by Maring Auction Co. (www.maringauction.com), another Ford 901 with an older restoration sold. It was a gas, Powermaster, wide front, 3pt., 540 PTO and good tires. It sold for $2,400. In unrestored condition I see lot of Ford 901 tractors sold at auction in the $600 - $1,500 range. The highest auction price I’ve seen the past 11 years on a Ford 901 tractor is $4,000 on a March 17, 2012 farm auction in Greenville, OH. It was a 1959 model, tri cycle, narrow front, Select-o-matic. Hope this info is helpful Rod!
