Stamm Equipment was in business for 53 years before his retirement auction in October of 2011. On that sale listing by Miedema Auctioneering was this apt description:

"Stamm Equipment is one of the largest used parts and equipment dealers in the country!"

John’s good friend J.R. Sims with Ted Everett Farm Equipment (www.tedeverett.com) in Monrovia, IN weighed in on John’s passing. "

John was the greatest guy in the world,” said Sims. “He loved the iron business. It didn’t matter back in the day if it was a JD 4840 come in the ring and right behind it was a Farmall C, he’d buy 'em both. At one time he had 11 trucks on the road.

Stamm was formerly part owner of Stilesville Implement in Stilesville, IN back in the mid 1980’s. He also was a well known Goodyear Tire dealer and had salvage yards both in Michigan and in Texas.
