My reply: Neil, actually just saw JD 8640 with Kinze conversion sold at auction 4 days ago (3/17/20), on farm sale in northwest New York. It had 7608 hours, 1000 PTO and sold for $19,000. Here’s a picture of it:

While we’re on the subject of Kinze conversions…the Highest auction price I’ve ever seen on a JD 8630 4WD tractor had a Kinze conversion, only 2800 hours, and sold for $36,000 back on a November 19, 2011 farm auction in Garden City, IA, sale by Brinkmeyer Family Auction Co. And of course I’ll never forget covering the Jon Kinzenbaw farm downsizing auction in Williamsburg, IA on March 8, 2017, a sale by Sullivan Auctioneers. The highlight to me of the sale was the 1988 JD 8850 with 0 hours on it since repower done to it…it sold for a then and still record high auction price of $71,000. Picture of if below.
