2nd John Deere 8560 Tractor Made Sold Tuesday on North Carolina Auction - 2nd Highest Price in 10 Years

One thing I’ve learned from my 32+ years tracking auction sale price data.

Every Tractor has a story. Some quite unique.

Like the 1989 JD 8560 4WD sold Tuesday, December 28, 2021, on an eastern North Carolina consignment auction by my good friends at Rich & Rich Auctioneers (www.richandrichauctioneers.com). Here’s a picture of it.

It was the 2nd 8560 ever made, SN# 1002. It was originally a “Dealer Demonstrator Unit” and then was owned by a John Deere executive. When it made its way to its North Carolina home in 1989 it had only 490 hours on it. When it sold Tuesday it had just 3485 original, actual hours on it. It had 3pt. and PTO.

SOLD: $49,500.

That is the 2nd highest auction price on a JD 8560 in nearly 10 years. See for yourself.

Another interesting story on the only JD 8560 sold higher at auction the past nearly 10 years…the 1992 model 8560 with just 865 hours sold for $56,500 on the 6/18/19 online farm estate auction in Beardsley, MN by the Steffes Group (www.steffesgroup.com). Here’s a picture of it.

That 6/18/19 online farm estate auction in Beardsley, MN was the sale that featured a pair of older, crazy low hour, almost NO hour, John Deere Combines…a 1983 JD 8820 with just 15 actual hours on it (Never been in the field!) sold for $75,500 and a 1990 JD 9600 with only 311 engine hours that sold for $68,000. Here’s a pic.

As I was saying…every Tractor, Combine and Auction has a story to it.
