Question via email from David C. “Pete, I have a Ford 4000 High Crop SN# 42014C C167352 7B24. I was wondering just how rare my tractor is and what auction value this tractor may bring? It runs good, but not a good looker.”

My reply: Well David, I haven’t across too many Ford 4000 High Crops. In fact, found only one the past few years sold at auction. It was in rough condition and sold on a November 17, 2016 farm auction in west-central Oklahoma. It went for $1,000. Here’s a picture of it:
As for Ford 4000 tractor values in general, I’ve seen (168) of them sold the past 5 years at auction. Here’s a look at Avg. Auction Price over that time:

I think tractors somewhat on the rare side like your 4000 High Crop can be helped when selling by using an auction firm that is known for selling rare/collectible tractors, so folks like…
These auction firms have built up very large contact information on potential buyers from around the world on rare tractors. If you are looking to sell, hopefully get potential rare Ford tractors buyers engaged, etc.
Hope this info is helpful!
