My auctioneer friend Mike Shackelton with Shackelton Auctions (www.shackeltonauctions.com) told me this would be a Hot sale.
Mike was correct.
Saturday (October 4, 2019) they held the Taylor Farms auction in Belmont, Ontario (southern Ontario). 4 new record high auction sale price marks were set and a number of other equipment items on the sale sold extremely well.
Sale prices should have been STRONG as this was very sharp equipment.
The one item on the sale that really caught my eye going in was the Case 4994 4WD tractor with 7715 hours and a rare factory Cummins 855 engine. The sale bill said “Only 10 believed to be built!” Here’s a picture of it…real beauty.
It sold for a new record high auction sale price of $70,000 CAD which = $52,577 U.S. dollars. For comparison, a little over 6 years ago, on a June 13, 2013 farm auction in east-central Alberta, a real sharp 1984 model 4994 4WD with 6999 hours (not the rare factory Cummins 855 engine) sold for $20,000 (U.S).

1997 Peterbilt 362 with 3406 Cat 500 HP engine: $50,324 (U.S)
Case 4890 4WD with 4917 hours: $19,904 (U.S)

Not record setters, but here were a few other items sold on the auction Saturday that were very strong prices…
2015 JD 8270R with 678 hours: $172,001 (U.S)
