Mark your calendar: March 15, 2018 - Henderson, Neb.
On the Goertzen farm retirement auction that day by our good friends at Cornwell, Inc. (http://www.cornwellauction.com) quite an interesting tractor will be up for sale...an early 1970's John Deere 4320 with 3,050 actual original "1 owner" hours, cab, side console. Yep, only 3,050 actual hours on it. Here's a picture:
Tonight I spoke with auctioneer Tom Cornwell about this 4320: "The owner inherited it from his wife's father on the same farm years ago," said Cornwell. "His father in law bought it new. It is nice. The father in law just didn't put many hours on it, then the son in law took over and he didn't use it, maybe only occasional light use."
Cornwell said this March 15th farm retirement auction for Goertzen Farms in Henderson, Neb. will feature a lot of very nice late model equipment.
And a 4320 with only 3,050 hours!
Wondering what the 4320 could be worth? Me too. Got me to digging in our Machinery Pete auction sale price data. Here's a look at the 20 highest auction sale prices over the years on John Deere 4320's:

Here's a picture of the record setting, rare, John Deere 4320 front-wheel assist, sold for $51,500 on June 2014 collector auction I covered in southwest Iowa, amazing sale by our friends at Polk Auction (http://www.polkauction.com):
And here's a pic of the 1971 John Deere 4320 diesel, side console, with 2,959 hours sold for $31,000 on an August 8, 2017 auction by Sullivan Auctioneers (http://www.sullivanauctioneers.com):
Will be very interesting to see what the 4320 with 3,050 original "1 owner" hours sells for on the March 15, 2018 farm retirement auction in Henderson, Neb....stay tuned.
