Ok, this is the all things John Deere 8100 Tractor Blog.
I got thinking of JD 8100’s when I saw a sharp 1997 model 8100 2WD with 4203 hours sold for $49,000 on a September 13, 2019 farm auction in Sutherland, IA by my good friends at Vander Werff & Associates, Inc. (www.vw72.com). Here’s a picture of it.
$49,000 is the 2nd highest auction sale price on a JD 8100 2WD model in 33 months, since December 2016.

Note the very similar 1995 model 8100 2WD with 4210 hours sold for $48,250 on the August 1, 2019 farm auction in Dows, IA. Here’s a picture of it.
Highest auction price the past 3 years on a JD 8100 2WD is $61,250 and came on a July 11, 2019 farm auction in Madelia, MN. Here’s a picture of it.
Now of course you don’t see 2WD model 8100’s around every day. But as I’ve been saying for couple years now, these older 2WD model tractors from the 1980’s/1990’s/2000’s that were predominantly sold as MFWD models have been pretty hot when then do show up for sale…if they are in good condition with reasonable to low hours, like the '97 JD 8100 2WD sold last week on the Sutherland, IA farm auction for $49K.
