Yep. I’ve seen it. Beautiful. 8 years old. As new. Here’s a pic of it.
It sells Tuesday, Feb. 9, on the Ron and Marge McIlwain farm retirement auction in Rensselaer, IN by our good friends at Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company (www.schraderauction.com). Online bid on it noon today was already up to $120,100.
After folks ask if I’d seen this tractor/sale comes the natural follow up question. “What do you think it will sell for Pete?”
Sullivan Auctioneers (www.sullivanauctioneers.com) sold a super nice 2012 JD 8235R with 1382 hours for $164,000 on 12/17/20 online farm auction in Burr Oak, MI. Highest auction price on an 8235R in exactly 7 years. Here’s a picture of it.
Highest auction price ever on a JD 8235R…$172,000 on 12/21/13 auction in west-central Illinois, 2012 model with only 259 hours.

An interesting stat on JD 8235R tractor values is that the Avg. Auction Price last year actually rose 13.2%, up to $108,121.
This 2013 JD 8235R with only 44.1 actual “1 owner” hours isn’t the only highly intriguing tractor on the Ron and Marge McIlwain farm retirement auction Tuesday (Feb. 9) in Rensselaer, IN. There is also the McIlwain’s 1993 JD 4960 with 2499 hours. Here’s a picture.
