Over 2,500. That's how many John Deere 4020 tractor auction sale prices I've compiled over the past 29 years. So kind of a big deal when a new record high auction sale price is set on 4020's. Well, that's exactly what happened Saturday (November 10, 2018) on Mecum Gone Farmin' collector auction in Davenport, IA ([http://www.mecum.com](http://www.mecum.com)). The 1970 John Deere 4020 Gas FWD Standard pictured below, restored in 2017,  **sold for $58,800** after the 5% commission rate was added in. ![pic2](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/machinerypete/original/2X/8/84b960be3edb5a9a484a7dfcb15feca4f078f862.jpeg)   Here's a look at the new Top 10 highest auction sale prices on John Deere 4020 tractors: **Highest Auction Prices on John Deere 4020 Tractors** ![pic3](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/machinerypete/original/2X/7/77f1a983bd8bd0b922399190e2d956ef15582584.jpeg) ![pic4](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex036/uploads/machinerypete/original/2X/a/ae5f770ceb7e12e7f9ddc1d16e6960aad77ed8e0.jpeg) \* Data by [http://www.MachineryPete.com](http://www.MachineryPete.com)   That wasn't the only auction sale price record broken Saturday on this Mecum Gone Farmin' auction. The rare 1977 John Deere 4230 open station low profile power shift diesel, 1 of only 51 built, sold for $50,400 with the 5% commission fee added in.
