The past 30 years I’ve documented 2,000+ JD 4440 Tractors sold at auction.

**Been a joy.**

Gotta admit, probably my favorite tractor model. I often write and speak about the powerful emotional connection so many folks have to tractors they’ve known throughout the lifetime. Typically in talks I give around the country, on this topic of emotional connection to tractors I’ll ask…“_Remember what your favorite tractor was when you were 12 years old?_”

I see heads nodding in the audience every time. And smiles all around.

4440’s came out in 1978. I was 12 years old.

**Ok, let’s talk JD 4440 facts:**

- Avg. Auction Price on JD 4440’s this year: **$19,374**

- Avg. Auction Price on JD 4440’s 10 years ago (2010): **$19,871**

- Avg. Auction Price on JD 4440’s 20 years ago (2000): **$19,388**

Pretty amazing data right there folks…JD 4440’s, made from 1978-1982, are worth almost the exact same $$ they were worth 20 years ago, only $14 apart. I know, I know, jump in and argue amongst yourselves about inflation, the value of the dollar over the years, etc.

**Avg. Auction Price 20 Years Ago: $19,388…Avg. Auction Price Now: $19,374.**

In the past month I’ve seen (2) 4440’s sold at auction for over $30K, one just this past week, on an April 8, 2020 online farm auction in Mapleton, MN.
