# 2012 JD S660 Combine Sold on Iowa Auction Yesterday - Highest Price This Year

Been interesting to me over past 30+ years to observe the depreciation trend on the 1st year of a new Model Series over time.

Like 2012 model year John Deere S600 Series Combines.

Deere made the S650, S660, S670, S680 and S690 model combines from 2012 - 2017.

Yesterday (September 8, 2020) on the R.J. Farms online retirement auction in Oskaloosa, IA by Sullivan Auctioneers ([www.sullivanauctioneers.com](http://www.sullivanauctioneers.com)) a very sharp 2012 JD S660 sold. It had 1537 engine hours. It was 4WD. Here’s a picture of it.

**SOLD: $131,000.**

Note how now at 8 years old, the 2012 model S660 has only depreciated 3.3% so far this year vs depreciating 13.4% last year.

Interesting to note, isn’t it, that the smaller 2012 model S660 combines are selling for more $$ at auction this year than the larger S670 and S680 combines. This jives with a general trend I’ve been observing now for quite some time in the used market…
